Paralyzed Veterans of America strives to enlist Americans - citizens, communities and corporations - to help ensure our paralyzed heroes are provided the physical care needed to live a healthy life; receive the benefits they've earned through military service; and obtain job training and opportunities for new and fulfilling careers.
Community of Caring
Food City believes in strenghtening our communities through encouraging outstanding volunteerism, community involvement and charitable works. We strive to give back to the communities in which we live and serve.
Claude P. Varney Volunteer Recognition Program
Our associates are not only the heart of our company, they are our — and their communites' — greatest asset. Every day our asociates work to strengthen their communities through selfless volunteerism and public service. The Claude P. Varney Volunteer reognition program seeks to shine a light on all of the good works our associates do. The recognition program was named after former Food City president and board vice-chairman Claude P. Varney who was well-known for his tremendous compassion and humanitarian services.

School Bucks
This year we're making $800,000 available to participating schools to invest in classrooms, equipment and essential supplies.
Food City Charity Golf Tournament
The annual Food City Charity Golf Tournament helps us support benevolent organizations that provide assistance to thousands of our friends and neighbors in need throughout our community.
Race Against Hunger
Since 1992, Food City has held its annual Race Against Hunger holiday campaign, in partnership with their customers, which benefits local hunger relief organizations. The Food City Race Against Hunger campaign makes it easy to help our fellow Americans in need. All proceeds benefit local non-profit hunger relief organizations throughout Southwest Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and East Tennessee.
Food City Invitational for Education
The Food City Invitational for Education golf tournament raises needed funds for schools located in Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
Friends in Need Food Drive
Each year Food City, in partnership with their customers, support local hunger relief organizations and animal shelters throughout the region.
Adult & Teen Challenge of the Mid-South
Adult & Teen Challenge of the Mid-South provides recovery for men and women seeking freedom from alcohol and drug addiction.
Alzheimer’s Association

Barter Theatre
