Food City Continues Time Honored Holiday Tradition

Food City Continues Time Honored Holiday Tradition
Abingdon, VA. - Monday, Nov 17, 2014.

Food City is well known as the exclusive retailer for a number of regional products.  As has been the tradition for many years, the supermarket chain recently announced that it will continue its partnership with another local favorite this holiday season - Pratt’s Hams.

“Like Food City, Pratt’s Hams is a local company with a rich heritage.  Their Honey Glazed Hams are an important holiday tradition for many of our loyal customers, and their products are among the first requests we receive as the holidays approach,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

Located in Kingsport, TN, Pratt’s Honey Glazed Hams have been a holiday tradition for over thirty years.  After a slow smoking process, each Pratt’s ham is glazed by hand with a special blend of rich honey & savory spices, sealing in the delicate smoked flavor. Pratt’s Honey Glazed Hams are fully cooked, spiral sliced and ready to enjoy.  They also make the perfect corporate or personal gift.

Pratt’s Hams will be available in the following Food City locations during the Thanksgiving holiday season:
NOVEMBER 22 – NOVEMBER 26:
Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“Food City is proud to be a partner of such an important, time-honored tradition.  We certainly look forward to working with the great folks at Pratt’s Ham again this holiday season,” says Steve Holloway, Food City director of meat operations.
