Expansion of Wise, VA Food City Completed

On Wednesday, June 2nd, Food City will be celebrating the completion of a major expansion/remodel to their Wise, VA location.  The project also resulted in the creation of 65 new area jobs.   

“Our customers can expect to find the same smiling faces, top quality products, exceptional customer service and competitive pricing they have come to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.

Nearly 6,000 sq. ft. of retail shopping space has been added, bringing the total square footage to over 50,000 sq. ft.  The remodel includes the addition of a Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages.  The Pharmacy has undergone an extensive makeover, with the addition of a private consultation room.  The bakery and deli food service areas have been expanded to include an Asian Wok, fresh food bar featuring a variety of soups, wings, salad, and fruit selections, pizza shop, and fresh sushi.  The dining room area has also been renovated and expanded.  The interior departments have been expanded with enhanced variety and selection as well.  The store has been upgraded with new energy efficient cases and glass doors, 100 % LED lighting, a new modern décor package, additional U-scans units, and new checkout lanes.
