Company officials will host ribbon cutting ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10th for the newly expanded/remodeled Food City in Chatsworth, GA. The re-grand opening celebration, which also begins Wednesday morning will include special advertising pricing on select items throughout the store. The project resulted in the creation of forty-five new jobs.
“Our customers will find the same smiling faces, top quality products, exceptional customer service and competitive pricing they have come to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences,” says Steven C. Smith, Food City president and chief executive officer.
The project added over 10,700 sq. ft. of retail space, bringing the total square footage to nearly 53,000 sq. ft. The expansion includes the addition of a Starbucks café, offering a wide assortment of blended hot and cold coffees and beverages and an assortment of tasty breakfast sandwiches and pastries. The food service department has been enlarged to make way for some exciting new services, including a fresh food bar featuring a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, sandwich bar, Asian Wok, brick pizza oven, hickory smoker, in-store made popcorn, and fresh sushi. The floral and produce departments were also enlarged and a new walk-up window was added to the Food City pharmacy. The store received a contemporary new décor package as well and customers wishing to shop online can now take advantage of our new curbside pickup.
“I would like to thank our loyal customers for their understanding and patience during the construction process,” says store manager, Lee Harris. “I think our customers will agree that these exciting new services were well worth the wait.”
